im not big on ribs but most of my family is and im not one to pass up a free meal so to the patio i went. i had the pulled pork sandwich. it was really good tender pork good sauce and the bread didnt get all soggy and nasty even after i put the other half in the microwave the next day, i also appreciate the bar. i like that i have plenty of options for a non-rib eater

Not sure what's motivating some of the negative reviews on here, but this place is and has consistently been one of the best bets to get a great meal in the area for at least 25 years. Anyone dumb enough to wait in line for hours at a Portillo's drive through for a greasy burger and fake "authentic Chicago" charm ought to have their heads examined.

Some of the best Barbeque I've ever had! The ribs are juicy and tender. The prices are pretty decent- more expensive than fast food, but cheaper than a restaurant like Chili's.

Wow. Love this place. Chicken oreganato the best. The boy loves the brisket sandwich.

It's a little bit pricey for lunch, but the food is consistently good. I got a soup and salad combo and was shocked at how large the salad was. I always like the fact that the food tastes like it's freshly cooked.

Without a doubt the best Italian beef you can get anywhere. The hot peppers are also great too. I don't get there nearly enough.

Food is decent. Food prep needs improvement. Will someone clean the grill please? Tired of blacks specks on my ribs. And please lighten up on the sauce. Everything is soaked you can barely eat it. Tables could be cleaner too.

Full slab.fries.small soup. I'm stuffed. Love the sauce. Ribs were cooked perfectly. Not overdone. Fries were hot and fresh. Staff was friendly. Place is clean.

Unacceptable take out service. I ordered a chicken sandwich, lettuce only. When i paid the cashier, I asked her to confirm whether the sandwich was being prepared as lettuce only. She assured me it was. I also asked for extra BBQ sauce. Upon arriving home, the sandwich was not lettuce only and not only did they not include extra BBQ sauce, there was no sauce at all! In the garbage it went - lost $11. Ate the fries. This restaurant is not the quality establishment that it once was years ago - the Manager is loosing his abilities to keep things running smoothly. They lost my business. NOT RECOMMENDED

I ordered a chicken pita salad from PAtio and within two hours of eating, I was sick and had excrutiating stomach pains. Whether the chicken or the ceasar dressing, but something was not cooked correctly- or refrigerated. I called the Manager, and she (Linda) simply said she had no reports of bad food. Last time they will see me!

I like this place a lot. My family and I have been going here for as long as I can remember. The prices are very good. I like everything i've ever had there. And I like that they DO NOT have waiter service actually. You get to place your order at the counter, seat yourself, and they'll bring you your food. You eat and throw your stuff away (some people let them clean up the table) and you're done. No tips to worry about (unless your request something special maybe? I've never had any special requests though). I definitely recommend going here for some decent barbecue.

We had The Patio cater our Christmas Party and the food was good but I specifically told them I need the sterno to keep the food warm and they didn't bring them and the party was for 65 people and when they came they only brought about 30 plates and when we asked if that was all the plates they said yes, so we had to run out and buy more plates so people could eat. They were not very prepared for our party and was very disappointed.

The staff saved our "lives". Wife dropped her wallet in the lot. Not noticed until she got home. A call to the Patio and staff went outside on a cold snowy night and found it!!! Returned credit cards and ID and money!!! The Patio staff are the best!!!

I've been coming to this patio for years and I always get their barbecue chicken it's delicious there soup is very good but overpriced! I love their garlic mashed potatoes they are so delightful! I wish they served fresh juices or lemonade that would complement the healthy choice of barbecue chicken. But definitely what they serve that unique is beef barbecue ribs Yum Yum Yum

Delicious !!! The chicken gumbo is to die for :) they were super fast to get out our Food and they also have a drive through which I thought was pretty neat!

This place has been a family staple for YEARS!! Tip: Grab a buffalo chicken sandwich, add cheddar, and get ranch on the side. Their cheese fries are AMAZE! My mom always gets the fried Cod and onion rings. The shrimp are delish as well. You really can't go wrong with anything on this menu.

I have always enjoyed the food and the quick service here. Most recently I had the hamburger (at my son's nudging) and it was excellent. The ribs are always tender, the chicken cooked to perfection and now a top notch hamburger!

Still awesome although the bake potatos are never pipping hot anymore. They used to be so hot when you slice them with a knife the steam would melt the butter in seconds.

My favorite item on the menu is the submarine sandwich! They also have amazing soup! And the bread that they give you is always fresh and soft! Love the fact I can order ahead of time and pick up in the drive thru.

  • Chelsea A.

The food was great and hot though it took a while in the drive through. We had to pull up to wait. However, I rather wait for fresh food than get stale fast food any day. I play to visit again one day to try other menu items. The chicken was very good and the garlic mashed potatoes were excellent as a side!

  • Jennifer B.

There is no reason why they should serve any sandwich on burnt black bread. Listen up cooks - if you burn the bread you can't hide it!!! It tastes likes crap - like burnt to hell bread. Take the time to remake it rather than to send out poor quality food!!! My steak sandwich tasted like horsesh*t!

Best place for a casual lunch in the Orland park area hands down! Got the Fish tacos and Pork. The fish tacos were far superior to tin fish. Best around with tasty tilapia and fresh cole slaw on top. The pork tacos were equally delicious with nice tender meat and their famous bbq sauce. Soooooooo delicious!

Not the worlds greatest but it will do...it was the first time I tried this patio location and I ordered the half slab, it was a bit dry for my taste but the bbq sauce was great. I have been told that other stuff on the menu is good so maybe I will go back to get something else....

Whenever I am in Orland Park, it's always a must that I eat at The Patio. Everything is high quality. The chicken oreganato is an outstanding meal, you will no doubt have leftovers because of how much you get. The half chicken is of high quality and you get so much meat -- it is NEVER dry. For lighter meals I recommend the Greek chicken pita, chicken sandwich, burger, Italian beef or Greek chicken salad. I've never had a bad item at the patio. Mozzarella sticks are worth it, as well. Fast, reliable service, excellent quality foods with proper to-go packaging, a quick drive-thru, and modern open dining room inside. My entire family loves The Patio!!

I haven't been here in about 5 years. Lots of other choices I guess. Ribs came out lightning quick. The tot was hot and it came with a tube of sour cream. The ribs were generous as they were off the plate on both sides. Very tender and meaty. As I said, I haven't been here in a while so I felt the sauce was off? Thought it was a bit tangier, more flavourful? The meal was good and the price was right. Now I remember why I stayed away. I don't like eating off paper plates with plastic utensils.

AKA "The Patio" This has been one of our standard places to go for 20 years. It's the only place we go, in the southern suburbs, when we want barbecue. The new restaurant has a beautiful, spacious (almost warehouse) interior. I'm not sure why they call this the Patio because there is no patio that I am aware of. At least now. Usually we order half chicken half ribs. You can't go wrong with either chicken or ribs. There are plenty of sandwiches if your child or partner is not too keen on BBQ. Then they give you a number, and you pick your own table. The staff brings you your food generally within minutes of sitting down. They clean the table afterwards, generally we don't leave a tip because there is nobody to tip. This is a pretty good family place, kids seem to like it. We go here less since our kids became teens.

I love the Patio. The food is excellent! The Greek pita is healthy and tastes great. They have the best soups in the area...and the BBQ sauce is simply the best. The last few times I was there, I have gone through the drive thru and the service/employees at the Orland Patio are great.

They always have good soup. i usually get soup and salad or the ribs. I try to try something different every time I do. They're quick and the food is good.

I think this place has the best BBQ in the area! The ribs and chicken is what I usually order and never had a problem. Their Italian beef is pretty good too. Has a little bit of garlic to it which really brings out the flavor and juices in the beef. Burgers, chicken all good as well.

came here a couple times because my friends wanted bbq and we were around the area.. the food here to me is average.. nothing to be wow about.. the restaurant is pretty big with a good amount of tables and room.. the service is eh.. could be better.. ive tried their rib basket (half slab with fries), chicken wings, and bbq rib combo with chicken that comes with fries, cole slaw, and french bread... the ribs and chicken was just meh... doesnt taste that good or anything.. taste like a fast food version of bbq... and trust me ive had real bbq before and a lot of it.. this is not it.. the chicken wings is just average.. taste like any other wings.. so goes for the fries.. the food in this place is not for me...

This is one star due to the fact that the bugs and other particles from the drink really made me not want to eat the meal. I went through the drive through and ordered two meals with drinks. After I drank some and drove away I was looking at the lid of the drink and it looked like something was sticking to the inside lid of the cup. I opened the cup and sure enough there was a bug broken up into multiple pieces in my drink. I looked harder and poured the drink out in a clear container when I got home. There is clearly more than bug particles floating around in my drink. I called and spoke to the manager and they refunded me for the drinks and 15% off food. In my opinion that is not enough. The Patio, I hope you clean your drink lines out for everyone's sake.

Food has been good enough to come back but not this time. And the two stars is for the not so lovely management. I ordered the Mango salmon and it was very fishy. The whole plate smelled fishy. What to expect from a BBQ place right? Wrong. I've had it before and it is absolutely delicious! I went up to the counter with it to order something else that I was willing to pay for. The manager just gave me a very hard time and never even gave me a chance to explain. He said he never had any complains on it before and I wanted to tell him that I have had it before and it was delicious but he was already turned away on his phone. Clearly he had better things to do than correct a customers expirence. They also brought me my food in a to go bag???? I was planning on still eating there but I took the hint lol

Went to Patio for lunch today. Was disappointed that have cheapened the quality. Hardly any mayo, tomatoes. Fries were uncooked and soggy. Clean place overall. Friendly staff.

DO NOT EAT HERE. They only care about your money. They don't care about the quality of the food or if the equipment they use are clean.

My friends and I love coming here for quick and quality food. You order at the counter where they give you a number and the staff brings the food out to your table. I usually get the chicken kabob dinner ($11.99) which comes with two big skewers of chicken, pita, and rice. The staff are friendly and they serve wine and beer.

I DO NOT RECCOMEND. This place is like Portillos....I think all of the good reviews must be from smoking a lot of really high quality pot. The quality of ingredients here is less than McDonalds. I am not a fan of eating in hospital cafeteria basements when relatives get sick but that is inevitably what happens. The patio is just like that with cafeteria corrals like a hospital cafeteria It has green plastic trays with rounded corners that you slide down a counter like a cafeteria and the quality of the food is less than that of any hospital cafeteria I have eaten at. The cesaer salad was romaine leaves, but not romaine hearts. It was really tough. It came with croutons and bread despite my asking for none because I am dieting. The bread came with a little foil wrapped butter square, just like in a sad, pathetic cafeteria. The a la carte chicken breast is a frozen gordons chicken breast, not fresh. The texture reminded me of a McDonalds chicken sandwich. The BBQ sauce is the equivelant of open pit bbq sauce, but not tangy or sweet. It was kind of gel-like...like it was made with fake-O food gel. It was so terrible I was not even tempted to swipe a french fry from one of the kids to dip into it. The chili....came with cheese and onions dumped into it, something I specifically asked them not to do. The texture of the chili is thick like it had been cooking down all day. The soup base was thick with beans...if you like cony island style chili from a can, that you would put on a hot dog, this is just like it. In fact I suspect it is dinty moore actually from a can because the beans are just mush. The cobb salad had ham that was crappy deli ham and american cheese. The nachos were ok but the turkey on them was prepackaged and just horrible! I mean fuck...Jewel can roast a damn turkey breast and sell it to me at lunch for nine bucks....how hard is it to roast a chicken breast that yoy have to reheat pre-cooked turkey shreds ...YUCK! I got to pay $19 to eat on paper plates with plastic utensils. I guess that is the theme or something....I had just heard from all these Orland Park folks that it was so awesome but I am not just disappointed, I was actually disgusted. Almost all of the food the adults ordered went into the garbage. The two kids ate half of the pre-made frozen chicken strips...but the frozen french fries were actually not touched because they were just kind of floppy like the oil wasnt hot enough. So gross! Ok so I just asked a staff if the chili was made fresh and she said yes. And I was suprised...and I guess my suprised reaction shook the truth from her because she reversed her answer and said, "well...actually, it is made off site". Ok so I am the truth serum. Then she said, well the company makes it in a factory. Yes, and I didnt even have to put my golden lasso around her. Good thing, too because I spent all afternoon in the parking lot looking to find where I parked that damned invisible jet!

I was tired of the same restaurants in OP so the bf suggested this place. They gave me the GF menu so we both ordered the oregano chicken with masked potatoes (for me), fries for him. The salad was great however they served with bread. womp, womp. The chicken was phenomenal however I think there was too much sauce. The building is very intriguing but it was a weird concept. It was fast food type ordering but then dine in eating. I didn't know whether to rush or take my time. I'm sure we'll be back but it's not on my top 5 for OP.

I grew up going to The Patio in Bridgeview, and I still have that sense of nostalgia when I smell Patio's BBQ from blocks away . Unfortunately, my love for the place then is not what it is today. I could easily blame it on a change of palate, but it's not that simple. Service: the counter experience is really rushed, so be sure to be ready to order when it's your turn or the people at the cash register will talk really fast at you. The condiments on the tables are always sticky, which is never appealing when you're eating with your hands. Fast service=fast food. Since they're turning a lot of food over, my guess is that a lot of items are prepared ahead of time. The temperature of their brisket it is never hot when it shows up at my table. I keep finding that the brisket is always overly-doused in barbecue sauce, which makes it ridiculously salty and masks the flavor of the meat. Tip: If you're going to order the ribs, get the dry rub and ask for the sauce on the side. Call it cultural to like your ribs already pre-LOADED in sauce, but it only seems to mask the dryness of their ribs that are served in that manner. If you want a quick barbecue-type of fix, go to The Patio. Otherwise, take a drive to get some legitimately-smoked barbecue, e.g. Rub's Backcountry, Hog Wild, Smoque or Chuck's,

OMG, that's the biggest Italian Beef Sammich that I've ever seen! Yesterday I got carry out for my brother's family. The beef sandwiches were chock full of the good stuff and had the perfect amount of au-jus and more on the side. The beef sandwiches were loaded with fresh peppers. Yum. Great french fries and cole slaw too. They carry Tom Tom tamales, a staple treat from my childhood. On a prior occasion, I'd ordered from The Patio when getting together with another family member in the area. The food was excellent that time too, we had their beef brisket sandwiches which were very good and the portions were very generous. Excellent food, drive through got the order correct both visits and the staff was very friendly. I give them 5 stars for the best Italian Beef Sammich, a high honor here in Chicagoland.

I always leave with a few bottles of sauce to take home. I really enjoy this place's sauce flavor. That being said, my friend and I ordered 2 pulled pork sammies, 1 order of mac and cheese (loaded), cornbread, baked beans, slaw and we shared all the sides. It was under 20 bucks and it was all very good. I know that there are many 1 star reviews but honestly I have yet to have a bad experience here. Maybe I am just lucky that my food never gets to me cold, it always has a good flavor, super hot and I have never had a bad experience with customer service. This place is pretty clean for the most part, which is also great.

I've loved the Patio ever since it started out in a small store, constantly crowded with a 40min wait. They've now moved into a huge space, and their service is [usually] extremely fast. As a longtime customer of the Patio's, I always bring newcomers by, and they love it. The best part about the Patio is the sauce (though it has been semi-commercialized). It's a sweet and tangy, just put it on everything - it's really astounding. My favorite item is the pulled pork sandwich - almost NO other pulled pork sandwich compares. It's huge, it's tender, it's on a crispy bun - I've tried pulled pork everywhere, and, partly because of the sauce, I really love this sandwich. The ribs themselves are not that great. Although they do arrive quickly with a hearty portion of fries, the meat on the ribs is just generally tough - especially if you're used to ribs from the best. Sometimes, the meat kind-of cleanly comes off the bone, but it's just generally not quite there. I muse that taking their sauce with a tender (maybe more slow-cooked?) rack would cause stampedes of rib fanatics - maybe :) If you're in the area (or love pulled pork), stop by the Patio's! Easy parking, fast service, and great taste makes it an easy choice for that barbeque craving.

Good food, but pricey for what you get. Restaurant is well managed...fast, efficient and friendly service. You order your food at the counter, take a seat and they bring your food out to your table.

You might not immediately think to get a sub sandwich when you go to a BBQ joint, but you should totally get one. Probably one of the best subs I've had. It's even better when you're hung over. And its huge. I like to eat and I couldn't finish one. I do suggest asking for easy mayo. Oh yeah, the ribs are really really good as well. Kind of the main reason to come here. Was the only reason I came here..until I discovered the subs. Now I have the hardest decision when I come here.. Sub or Ribs. Or if you're feeling especially fat kid ish, get a sub and a half slab and have a meal for the next three days. I suggested that they start selling quarter slabs of ribs and a half a sub because that would be perfect. But the counter girl didn't care. Nor did she care when I ask how much just one rib was. Le sigh.

I have always liked the patio for a cheap rib fix. My husband and I always order stuff with the intention of sharing and it works well. Ribs are good and I can't help but order cheese fries. It's an addiction. Coleslaw, hot dogs, Italian beef.... All good. It's a very casual place and very kid friendly!

My mom recently chose to order take out from here and called me to see if I wanted anything. I couldn't help but pause for a moment thinking of all the other possible choices in the area yet decided to give it a shot. I ordered the rib combo with BBQ beef brisket which came with coleslaw, fries, and bread. The ribs were what I remembered them to be last time I ate at this location, not quite fall off the bone but not quite chewy. I don't think they were that bad but I've had better ribs from their Bridgeview location. Then came the BBQ beef brisket and boy what a disappointment! I'm rarely finicky about my food and always finish what's on my plate but I simply couldn't. The beef was chewier than rubber and felt as if I was eating a food product rather than actual smoked beef brisket. I hate to sound like I'm picking a fight here but I was also unsatisfied with my fries. They were fried a little too long I think or the oil needed to be changed as they were a darker brown, more crunchy than crisp. Now I don't mean to sound so cruel but if I spend almost $20 on a meal for just myself I expect to walk away at least somewhat satisfied. This was simply not the case and I'm perplexed as to what happened to my neighborhood Patio.

Great soup....need I say more. Price is a little bit high here, but you get what you pay for. My son absolutely Loves this place, he would eat here everyday if I would let him. Ribs and BBQ chicken are excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My experience at Patio was one of the worst I've had in a long time. If I could give zero stars, I would. Here are my many reasons why... 1. I first attempted to go through the drive-through. I waited there a bit, no one asked my order and there wasn't a sign, so I thought maybe I needed to pull forward to the window. Then as I pulled forward, someone came on. Too bad there was a car behind me and it was too late for me to back up. I had to go all the way around and decided to try to go inside instead. 2. I get inside and the menu lists grilled chicken sandwiches, but nothing about what's actually in the sandwich. Monterrey chicken? Cajun chicken? As someone who is trying to be health conscious, how would I know whether or not the sandwich is layers of cheese/bacon/dressing/grease or just chicken lettuce and tomato?? 3. Everyone behind the counter was acting as if today was the worst day of their life. I asked what was on the different chicken sandwiches, and the man behind the counter gave me nothing but attitude. He muttered quickly something that I couldn't understand as if this first time customer should know every item on the menu by heart. There was no one behind me in line, I'm not sure what the rush was. I gave in an ordered the Grilled Chicken Pita because at least I'd have an idea what was on the sandwich. 4. Food wasn't even worth it. My sandwich was wrapped in a way that made it impossible to eat as a sandwich... fork it is. Also, the sandwich was SOAKED in dressing. It was all over the wrapper, then all over my hands. 5. The Chicken & Rice soup... not good. It was more gelatinous goo than soup. It had a whole 3 tiny pieces of chicken and 5 grains of rice floating around in the gelatinous goo. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. There is a Panera half a mile away. Always good.

This used to be one of my favorite go-to restaurants in high school. I can't say much about the service or the atmosphere of the restaurant now, but back in the day, you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring it to the table. When my dad brought it home take-out for dinner the other night, confirmed: still fantastic! (Especially for take out!) So I will tell you about the mouthwatering food instead :) 1. Ribs - sofa king delicious! They're tender, and the BBQ sauce...drool... 2. Italian roast beef sandwich - ohhh, how I've missed you. Order it with the peppers (I usually get both sweet and spicy), and the au jus. A little taste of heaven. 3. Chicken kabob - Chicken is well-seasoned, and it comes with green peppers and onions. Dip it into the chicken gravy for a party in your mouth. Actually, my favorite part of his whole dish though is the pita bread. I'm not sure what they put in it, but it wouldn't be far off from crack, because even a decade later, I'm still hooked. Order any 3 of the above, and you can't go wrong! And try to wear sweatpants because I usually end up sumo-ing outta here - and that's avoiding the ice cream and cake display that they have at the door, too!

  • Todd F.

I give them a shot every few years and invariably regret it. Tough, under cooked ribs- infinitely more bone than meat. They charge for an extra piece of bread, in spite of the $20 you've just wasted on their ribs... I am depressed to say that one is (far) better off going to even some crappy chain like Chili's than wasting time and money at The Patio.

Patio BBQ - 4 Stars: some of the best BBQ in the south suburbs of Chicago. Sauce is on the sweet side. Very consistent BBQ ribs - not fall-of-the-bone because they aren't steamed...but are they good. Pulled pork sandwich is also excellent. Great place for families and kids. Minimal bar selections - you come to this huge, open, and airy dining room for the ribs. This place packs them in - and for good reason.

    (4)

I give this place 4 stars and I've never ordered BBQ from them! They have Awesome spaghetti with meat sauce! For fastest service, call in your order and then get it at the drive thru.

Patio Restaurant is an average restaurant, nothing special at all except the barbecue sauce. Other than that you would be better off just purchasing their sauce, taking it home to cook your own ribs and poultry. I did, Overall their food is over rated and their prices are redicuous high. I perfer Portillo's, where I am never disappointed nor left feeling cheated. Please go and dine somewhere else.

I ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Dinner. The shrimp was more breading than shrimp. It was also over cooked, coming out the the table dark brown, not golden. The breading crunched when you bit into it because it was so over cooked. On a positive note, my husband liked his Italian beef sandwich, which was tender and loaded with meat. The peppers were hot, but not too hot and the coleslaw was excellent. I would go back, but not order any seafood as they are more noted for their ribs and burgers.

I've been eating here for several years and I love it. The quality of food is excellent and always tastes the same fresh and delicious. I always get the ribs which melt off the bone and in your mouth. There bake potato is good as well as there bread. It's a casual family dinning place but is also a good spot for a date or a dinner with friends. They also sell there ribs frozen. My dad had got me some one weekend and I baked them in th eoven and they tasted just as if I ordered them fresh. I went to the drive thru to order my dinner tonight which the line was super long, but it was a Friday night. It's difficult to get in and out of the place because it's right on 159th street which is super busy during rush hour. But other than that it's a great place to get great food.

Eh...ribs are supposed to be some of the best in the area according to the locals. That's an overstatement. The ribs were tough, hardly any meat and definitely didn't fall off the bone like I'm used to. The bbq sauce is much too sweet and hardly had any tang or spice to it. It was saturated in sauce and a good rib can stand on its' own without being covered in an overly sugared bbq sauce. I just thought I'd get a good rib that wasn't grisly or tough because this place has been popular and in business for many years. The bbq chicken was average at best and the garlic mashed potatoes were generic. Nothing was outstanding or to the point that my family wanted to go back. My husband's chopped chicken salad was the best of the bunch but again, it's not saying very much. I guess I got spoiled with great places like Lillie's Q, Smoque and Twin Anchors in the city. This is just another average and mediocre rib place that doesn't measure up.

Don't order the carryout, you will get burnt chicken and ribs, that they wouldn't dare serve at the table!!! I have been going to the Patio for over 30 years!

Been going to the Patio since there old too small location. There food is fantastic. im not a rib person so i cant vouch for them, however there soups are to die for, i always get a 64 ounce to go. There burgers are fantastic, grill cheese is great, but the surprise of the restaurant is the fried zuchinni, its a must have! Best anywhere. Prices id say are a little high, but not overly high. they do have a small bar, with many choices, and the service is always very fast and swift. Sometimes the food starts coming befoe even sitting down at a table with your number. And its always fresh. Id avoid the drivethru for large callin orders, thats only drawback. Go in and get it and sit at the bar and have a cold beer.

Patio ribs are the best. Don't eat here more than once a month because they are high priced. Always clean, good staff. Ok for family's and groups.

I can not believe it took me this long to write a review about THE PATIO!! First off let me start off by saying I got my very first job at The Patio when I turned 16! My start loving the hospitality world. I believe I was with them for close to 4 years too. Great times! I have been a very loyal customer for well over 18 years now!! I think they still have GREAT food/bbq or I obviously would not be eating there still. When I started working they only had the ORLAND PARK and BRIDGEVIEW location open so now having a total of six locations they must be doing something right! Agree? You better!! :) How can you beat homemade soups, bbq sauce etc? Love the bbq chicken (white meat) and the cream of chicken rice soup. Yum! Great atmosphere at all of the locations. Spacious seating and loft like. I have not been to the newest one in Lombard just yet but I will since I am close to it. The prices have def gone up a bit over the years but I don't blame them It is GOOD food! I have never had a rude worker or bad service at any of the locations and I don't mind the ordering process at all. Order when you enter at the counter. Take a number and pick your seat. They bring the food. You don't have to clean up BUT I always do because I used to work there and I just don't like to leave my mess for them. Keep up the awesome work John and Luke and thanks for the memories!!!!

I grew up eating patio, the sandwiches are excellent, and the BBQ sauce is some of the best, if not the best I have ever tasted. I think Patio would actually be better in my book without their ribs! I tried them again just to see if the last few batches I had were just not good and not the fault of the Patio...wrong, they hardly have any meat, you have to tear or cut away the meat from the bone, and they were really dried out. Want ribs in Orland...head to Portillo's, Nick's, Mickey's, or even Outback blows the Patio ribs out of the water. Your rib meat should fall off the bone!

This restaurant is overpriced for the value of food you will get. I was reading their menu board, and the proprietor was tapping his pen to rush me. For the amount you pay you should be waited on. The staff was unfriendly. I will never visit this establishment again.

I love patio especially on evening when you can outside. Weird that so few choose to do so nut that makes it better for the rest of us. Great place for larger groups and food is always tasty along w/ better than average choice of beer/wine for a family joint. Place your order, get a number and find a table. Someone brings it out - no tip necessary so cool. A little expensive so often settle for a really good hotdog and always great soup. Ribs very good along with huge selection of other foods. I even love the veggie sandwich or bowl of cooked veggies.

Yeah, I know you're wondering.... Why does the Patio receive a five star...? Well, our dinner here on tonight was fresh, tasty, and fast. PLUS my 10-month old wasted a chicken tender basket and the waitress replaced it with out any problem(DOUBLE PLUS, SHE was like 8 months pregnant herself, and attempted to help my hubby and I clean up the mess). So yes we will return on a night that I don't want to cook.

i always had the best to say about this place, as a family favorite, for a quick bite, at a nice price Then came the day on the chilly October afternoon, where we came for lunch. I was starving, as no breakfast had been consumed before the high school football game that we just came from. Ordered the half slab, with mashed potatoes...I was gonna savor this, as I usually limit to having ribs to twice a year. Once a year after this visit, as later on that evening, i had a bad case of food poisoning. Was in bed for 3 days, and yes, I DO KNOW IT WAS FROM PATIO'S, as again, i had nothing to eat for breakfast that morning. I wouldn't ever go back. Every restaurant has their moments with overcooked food, burnt, or a missing item from your order. Food poisoning is never an excuse They don't even deserve the one star that Yelp requires for me to put on

I tried to eat at Patio a few months ago. My plan was to pick up a menu on the way to an appointment, call in our order before we left the appointment, pick up our food and then kick it at home with some great BBQ. This is what happened: I entered the restaurant. I approached the counter. Someone from behind the counter asks if they can help me. I say I am looking for a menu. They say they are out of menus. "What?" I reply The manager pokes her head out from around the corner and says I can just order off the board. Well, yes I realize I can do that, but it would be hard to get that board off the wall and into my car. I say I need to take a menu with so my group can get their order together. Manager says with a straight face "we are all out of menus. You can go to another patio or if you have a computer at home, you can go there and print out a menu." I tell the manager, for the sake of her customers, "you can go to another location and pick up menus, have a staff member do that, or wait, maybe go in the restaurant office and print out menus from office computers.' The manager's response was to stare at me incredulously. I left, went down the street to Portillo's, where they have menus and we ordered dinner from there. It is too bad the Patio has idiot managers; otherwise I would post an intelligent review of their food instead of the service.

My family and I visited the Patio recently on a Sunday evening. Our order was not complicated, full slab rib dinner, patty melt/fries, beef sandwich/onion rings; brisket sandwich/mushrooms and 4 beverages for a grand total of $61.87. After a short wait the onion rings and mushrooms arrived, usually your side comes with your sandwich but evidently not at Patio. About 10 minutes later the sandwiches arrived but no ribs. We were constantly assured by the servers that the ribs would be "right-up." After waiting an additional 15 minutes I finally went to the counter to inquire about the ribs - "they'll be right up" must be the standard Patio response. Finally, after a 35 minute wait and everyone else's food getting cold (we have manners we wait until all are served before we begin our meal) the ribs finally arrived. Next the second bite out of the patty melt included a long blond hair grilled into the sandwich. No apology just "I'll get you a new one" which they did, however, that took another 10 minutes. Needless to say neither the food nor the service were worth the price. There are countless other eateries in the area so there is no question Patio has lost our business permanently.

It's my oldest son's birthday and he has a taste for some BBQ. So my wife and I suggest a few places. My son narrows it down to The Patio in Orland or Mindys. He decides on The Patio. Now it has been a while since we have been to the Patio. I'm not even sure I have been to the newer location (which has been there for a while) further west on 159th St. I still remember their old location further east on 159th st. Well as we head into our destination we run into some family. After a nice and quick little visit we head inside, only to run into more friends. Such a small world we live in. Well the birthday boy orders the Full Slab Dinner for $18.50 (ribs, he does LOVE his ribs). He said they were good, meaty and tasty. My wife wanted to order one of the pasta shell soups but they were fresh out. So she orders the Ribs and Chicken Dinner for $14.75 (which Maria said was good) instead. I did try the Chicken and it was good, average fare. My younger daughter orders the Chicken Noodle soup for $3.25 (which they did have) and a Grilled Cheese sandwich for $3.50 (she wasn't feeling that well and thought this would keep her stomach settled). We both thought the Chicken soup was outstanding but the Grill Cheese was again just average. The soup had plenty of chicken and veggies and was not too heavy on the noodles. My daughter even commented that she thought Mom makes better grilled cheese sandwiches (yes, she is known as a brown noser, but I would have to agree with her this time that Maria does make better grill cheese sandwiches). My youngest son ordered his usual, a Double Cheese Burger (usually a cheese burger is what he orders, I still say he should write a book on cheese burgers) and fries. He liked the Cheese Burger, but I could tell he has had better. The fries were the thick cut steak type fries which we both thought were good. But even the birthday boy agreed with us that these type of fries cool off too fast and then don't taste as good as the thin cut fries. Finally your Yelp Reviewer ordered a Chili Dog for $2.99 (which was really good, you could tell the Chili was home made Chili). I also ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger for $4.50 (which wasn't as good as the Chili Dog, but still was very good). The burger was nice and meaty and the bun was still sort of fresh. Finally, yes I ordered more, you know me my dear readers I certainly can and do enjoying eating. I ordered an Italian Beef sandwich for $4.99 (which was just okay, nothing to truly write home about, but yes to write about here in Yelp). The bun was not as fresh as it could have been and the beef had very little flavor or spices. So with drinks and taxes the total bill came to roughly $76 dollars. I think my birthday boy, son enjoyed his birthday meal. The Patio has good, average fare and nice, not too friendly service. I do think the prices are sort of high but it is a nice and clean place. We will probably head back to The Patio in Orland but only if we are out that way and probably not too soon.

I have always had good ribs from here. Today was an exception. Usually after you order and sit down bang your meal is there. Did not occur this time, not sure what the delay was but it was a wait. After my first bite I knew they were off. The ends were charred and the ribs were dry. Just overcooked for sure. Not sure if they were having a bad afternoon but did not work for me this time.

Boyfriend's mom brought them home for us after we got home from a small trip. Ribs... meh. Mashed potatoes... They're questionable. Are they made of flakes and water? I wouldn't come back here. For BBQ, I like Billy Boys in Chicago Ridge.

I loooooove me some Patio BBQ Sauce. The Patio has my all time favorite BBQ Sauce and I think this is what makes their ribs so good. The Patio is the best place for ribs in the south suburbs. The meat falls right off the bone and and taste so good drentched in Patio BBQ Sauce. I am also a big fan of their burgers (which I also recommend covering in Patio BBQ Sauce). Patio BBQ Sauce is Boss!

The food here is really delicious. The portions are big and options plenty ( my favorite is chicken/rib combo). The BBQ sauce is so tasty and every meal comes with an extra side of it. We often order this to go. I call ahead and pick up at the drive thru making it quick. If you go in to dine or order you will find yourself waiting- it's always crowded! Yum!

I hope that my past experiences with this place is unique given that they seem to be a very popular chain around the southwest Chicago area. However I must say that the several times that I have been here I have run across some very rude managers. On one occasion I ordered our ribs to go and when I asked for extra sauce which they had in individual packets, I was told that their policy was only one extra packet per order. I then told him that I could have easily gone a half mile away to Famous Dave's where they could care less how many I took and his answer was sorry, that's just our policy. OK, so fine, they want me to buy their bottle of bbq sauce as oppose to trying to take more than one but honestly, an extra pouch was going to bankrupt them? The other occasion was when my wife and I decided to give them another chance even knowing about their extra sauce policy and not grumble about it. We had a bottle of Famous Dave's sauce at home if we need more. ;-) On this particular occasion my wife was the one to order our ribs to go and honestly, she must have waited at least a half an hour while watching those who ordered after us getting their food and leaving. When she finally asked the manager about checking into our order, his reply to my wife was "we're busy tonight, what do you want me to do about it?" What? Honestly, you didn't just say that to a customer. How about doing your job and going to see what you did with our order? Why not, say, do your job? So needless to say we haven't gone back since and honestly there are just too many other good rib places in the area for my wife and I to waste our money here. As another posted earlier, too bad they have such poorly trained managers and some really asinine policies.

Went to the Patio Restaurant for Mother's Day today, and let's just say customer service is NOT their forte. The 50-ish male manager or owner helped us and was absolutely disinterested in helping us order. He didn't say hello, didn't welcome us, just stood there with his fingers on the cash register keyboard. We ordered, and my elderly mother didn't completely understand the ordering process and this guy just kept repeating, "Is that it? Is that it?" I had to tell him to HOLD ON, that we were looking at the menu choices. Then you get done ordering but you have to go to another station to pay, which is strange because that scenario took up double the space and added to the confusion. A customer had to tell us to step down. The cashier girl we gave our money to said, "Too bad you didn't get here earlier, we had flowers for the Mothers", which was a really tacky thing to say. Luckily the ribs were good.
